The Arneson River Theatre, situated along the picturesque San Antonio River Walk, is a historic outdoor performance venue constructed between 1939 and 1941. It was designed by architect Robert H.H. Hugman and is named in honour of Edwin P. Arneson, a WPA engineer who facilitated project funding. The theatre accommodates over 800 audience members and hosts more than 200 performances each year, including music concerts, plays, and cultural festivals. A unique feature of the theatre is Rosita's Bridge, named after Tejano music pioneer Rosita Fernández. The site also gained fame as a filming location for the film "Miss Congeniality." Adjacent to the theatre, La Villita Historic Arts Village showcases artisan shops and restaurants, enriching the cultural experience for visitors.
