Groß St. Martin is an outstanding Romanesque church situated in Cologne's Old Town. Constructed in the 12th century, it served as the abbey church for a Benedictine monastery. It is famous for its unique cloverleaf-shaped choir and square tower adorned with four corner turrets. The church underwent significant restoration after suffering extensive damage during World War II, reopening in 1985. Visitors are invited to admire the remarkable architecture, stunning frescoes, and Roman archaeological finds in the crypt. It is fully accessible, with guided tours offered. Admission is free, and the church welcomes visitors for prayer and exploration from Tuesday to Sunday, with regular services.
