The Cavalli di San Marco, or Horses of Saint Mark, are a set of four bronze statues that once adorned a quadriga at the Hippodrome of Constantinople. Their origins date back to either the 4th century BC or AD, and they were brought to Venice by Crusaders in 1204. These horses are of great historical and cultural significance, representing Venetian power and artistic prowess. They were displayed on the Basilica di San Marco's façade until 1977 when replicas were put in their place. The originals are now housed in the Basilica Museum, which offers insights into their artistry and history. The museum operates daily, with an admission fee applicable. Accessibility options are provided for visitors with mobility issues.
