Çinili Köşk (the Tiled Pavilion) is a 15th‑century Ottoman pavilion on Istanbul’s historic peninsula near Topkapı Palace and Gülhane Park. Erected in the period of Mehmed II (c. 1470s), it is one of the earliest surviving examples of Ottoman palace architecture and is particularly celebrated for its rich İznik‑style glazed tiles and tile‑panel decoration. Traditionally used as a pleasure pavilion and a display space for ceramics, the pavilion now conserves and exhibits a focused collection of Anatolian and Ottoman tiles and pottery that demonstrate technical and artistic progress in ceramic production. Its cultural significance lies in the blend of Anatolian, Byzantine and Persian influences evident in its ornamentation and in its contribution to Ottoman decorative arts. Practical matters such as opening arrangements, admission and accessibility are managed by cultural authorities and can change; the historic structure may limit full accessibility.
