Parc des Champs‑de‑Bataille, commonly called the Plains of Abraham, is a historic urban park in Quebec City sited on the location of the pivotal 1759 battle between British and French forces that influenced North American history. Managed by the Commission des champs de bataille nationaux, the park unites sweeping lawns, commemorative monuments such as the Wolfe–Montcalm memorial, interpretive displays and adjoining cultural institutions. Its cultural significance derives from remembrance, civic identity and a programme of public events that link local heritage to national narratives. Principal attractions comprise broad green spaces and viewpoints, explanatory panels and nearby fortifications and museums that interpret military and artistic traditions. The grounds are kept for year‑round enjoyment with seasonal initiatives; general access to the park is free while particular historic sites and museums may levy modest charges. Main paths and amenities are largely accessible, although some historic zones include uneven surfaces.
