Isartor, constructed in 1337, is the eastern city gate of Munich's historic old town. This neo-Gothic building was restored from 1833 to 1835, adorned with exquisite frescoes by Bernhard Neher. It serves as an important landmark, delineating the boundary between the old town and the Isarvorstadt. Visitors can enjoy the Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum housed in the flank towers, which highlights local culture and history. It is conveniently accessible through public transport, including the Isartor S-Bahn station. There are no admission charges, but donations are welcomed. Opening hours may vary, so prior checking is advisable.
