The Monumento a Maimónides, situated in the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba, pays tribute to the illustrious Jewish philosopher, physician, and scholar Moses Maimonides. Inaugurated in 1964, this life-sized bronze statue, created by sculptor Amadeo Ruiz Olmos, captures Maimonides in traditional medieval attire, with an open book symbolising his extensive knowledge. The monument reflects Córdoba's historical multiculturalism and the intellectual prosperity of the medieval era, characterised by the coexistence of Muslims, Jews, and Christians. Visitors often touch the statue's feet for wisdom and good fortune, a practice that has polished the bronze over time. Nearby attractions include the Córdoba Synagogue and Casa de Sefarad, enhancing the exploration of Jewish heritage.
