Constructed between 1858 and 1861, it serves as the cathedral for the Diocese of Sofia-Plovdiv. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Louis, King of France, and features an eclectic architectural style that merges neoclassicism with neobarock. Following significant fire damage in 1931, it was restored and reopened in 1932. Key attractions include its beautiful façade, detailed frescoes, and the remarkable bell tower built in 1898.
