Çiçek Pasajı, commonly known as the Flower Passage, is a historic covered arcade from the late 19th century located on Istiklal Avenue in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu quarter. Erected on the site of an earlier cultural venue and rebuilt following 19th‑century fires, it became noted for its florists and later for its compact cluster of meyhanes, restaurants and cafés that reflect the neighbourhood’s social life. Architecturally it retains features of late‑Ottoman and European arcade design, with an enclosed gallery and decorative details typical of the period. As a cultural landmark, the passage represents Beyoğlu’s cosmopolitan entertainment history and multi‑layered social identity. The arcade itself is generally open to the public without a formal ticket; individual establishments determine their own opening times and fees. Given its historic fabric, some parts may have limited accessibility and combine preserved features with modern fittings.
