Gwanghwamun is the principal gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, South Korea, originally constructed in 1395. It is a poignant symbol of Seoul's rich history during the Joseon Dynasty. After several reconstructions, the most recent restoration was completed in 2010, restoring its traditional wooden appearance. The royal guard changing ceremony takes place every hour from 10:00 to 15:00, providing a unique cultural experience for visitors. In front of the gate lies Gwanghwamun Plaza, a vibrant public space. Gyeongbokgung Station on Subway Line 3 offers the closest access. Admission to the palace is usually free, though specific areas may incur fees.
