Richard III Museum - Free Audio Guide

The Richard III Experience at Monk Bar, previously known as the Richard III Museum, focuses on the life and reign of Richard III, the last king of the Plantagenet dynasty. Situated in Monk Bar, one of the historic gatehouses of York, the museum offered exhibitions that illuminated Richard's early life and involvement in the Wars of the Roses, along with multimedia displays of key battles. Visitors enjoyed seeing arms and armor from his era and a rare fragment of a period gun. While it has been closed since 2020, this museum provided an immersive experience into an important chapter of history.
