The Leon Pancaldo Tower, commonly referred to as Torretta, is a historic medieval structure in Savona, standing at 23 meters high and recognized as an emblem of the city. Documented for the first time in 1392, the tower was part of the city’s fortifications that protected the harbor. Named after navigator Leon Pancaldo, who accompanied Magellan, it features a fresco depicting the crest of the Republic of Genoa and a statue of Our Lady of Mercy by Filippo Parodi. Currently, it serves as the base for the Italian National Association of Seafarers, highlighting Savona's maritime legacy.
