The Historium is a cultural and historical attraction located on the Grote Markt in Brugge. Officially opened on 25th November 2012, it highlights the rich history of Bruges during the Golden Age, particularly in relation to Jan van Eyck. Visitors can experience seven themed rooms that integrate film, decor, and special effects to tell the story of Bruges. A standout feature since 2015 is the virtual reality experience, allowing guests to see Bruges as it appeared in 1435. The venue includes a café, a Gothic tower with 145 steps to climb, and a panoramic terrace. Accessibility is emphasized, and the attraction targets an annual visitor count of 200,000.
