The Torre dell’Orologio (St Mark’s Clocktower) in Venice is a late‑Renaissance landmark at Piazza San Marco, conceived by Mauro Codussi and notable for its astronomical clock dial, zodiac indicators and the pair of bronze bell‑strikers known as the “Mori.” Historically it marked civic time and maritime schedules, symbolising Venice’s commercial and technological prestige. Architecturally, the tower integrates sculptural reliefs, an automated procession of figures and an internal mechanism of historical interest; restorations have conserved these elements while retaining original character. Key attractions include the ornate clock face, the bell‑strikers and the preserved machinery, alongside limited elevated viewpoints associated with the structure. The tower operates on a scheduled, seasonally varying opening pattern and may require ticketed access; admission practices are managed by custodial authorities. Accessibility is constrained by its historic fabric, with limited step‑free access and adaptations where feasible.
