The Floating Orange Tree, or עץ תפוז מרחף, is an impressive public environmental sculpture situated in Old Jaffa, Tel Aviv–Yafo. Created in 1993 by artist Ran Morin, this life-sized orange tree is suspended in a large clay pot, symbolising the tension between nature and urban life. It serves as a poignant reminder of Jaffa's historical significance as a former centre of orange production. A hidden irrigation system maintains the living tree, which appears to float in mid-air, prompting reflections on ecological disconnection in contemporary society. Close to landmarks such as the Jaffa Flea Market and Jaffa Port, the Floating Orange Tree invites visitors to reflect on the balance between urban and natural environments.
