St John’s Cathedral (聖約翰座堂) on Hong Kong Island is the historic Anglican cathedral in Central, originating in the mid‑19th century and regarded as one of the oldest surviving Western ecclesiastical buildings in the territory. Exhibiting Gothic Revival influences, the building contains prominent stained‑glass windows, memorial plaques and commemorations linked to Hong Kong’s colonial and wartime past, together with a traditional pipe organ and established choral practice. Located close to Government House and public gardens, the cathedral has fulfilled both liturgical and civic roles, hosting services, commemorations and musical events that illustrate Hong Kong’s multicultural identity. As an active parish and diocesan seat, it continues community and pastoral work and provides general accessibility features for visitors with mobility requirements.
