The Toronto Reference Library, established in 1909, is the largest branch of the Toronto Public Library and is located at 789 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto. Designed by architect Raymond Moriyama, the library's current building opened to the public in 1977. It serves as a public reference library with an extensive collection of over 1.6 million items, including books, manuscripts, and microfilm, most of which are for reference use only. The library attracts more than 1.5 million visitors each year, offering various technical services and public events.
