Vrata od Pila, the western entrance to the historic city of Dubrovnik, is a significant cultural and historical landmark. Built in 1573 in a Renaissance style, these gates are part of an ancient fortification that dates back to 972. Visitors can admire the impressive outer gate adorned with a statue of Saint Blaise, the city's protector. The inner gate, constructed in 1460, features a Gothic arch and also showcases a statue of Saint Blaise, sculpted by Ivan Meštrović. The gates are accessible via a stone bridge built in 1471. Open year-round, there are no admission fees, making it an excellent stop for tourists. The site is easily reachable from the city centre, enhancing its appeal for visitors.
