Man Mo Temple on Hong Kong Island, situated on Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan, is a mid‑19th‑century complex dedicated to the civil deity Man Tai and the martial deity Mo Tai. Renowned for its hanging incense coils, lacquered altars, carved beams and traditional murals, the temple exemplifies southern Chinese ritual architecture and the syncretic religious practices of early Cantonese settlers. Historically it served as a community shrine where scholars sought blessings for examinations and where guild rites and festival ceremonies were observed. The site has recognised heritage value and is notable for its architectural fabric, ritual artefacts and continuous worship. It is generally accessible to the public without a formal admission charge, though the historic layout can impose partial constraints on physical accessibility.
