Geunjeongmun, the southern gate of Geunjeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung Palace, is a site of historical importance located in Seoul, South Korea. Constructed in 1395 and reconstructed in 1876 after being lost during the Japanese invasion, it was a key location for national ceremonies during the Joseon Dynasty. Visitors can appreciate its distinctive architecture, characterised by a trapezoidal roof and late Joseon design features. The palace is conveniently reachable by Gyeongbokgung Station and Gwanghwamun Station on the subway. There are no entrance fees, but it is advisable to verify visiting hours and any cultural events that may occur.
