The Portuguese Centre of Photography, established in 1997, is an important cultural venue located in Porto. It was set up to foster photographic culture, particularly after the resurgence of photography in Portugal post-Salazar regime. The building, which underwent renovations by architects Eduardo Souto Moura and Humberto Vieira, opened fully in 2001. Guests can enjoy a variety of exhibitions featuring an array of photographic works. The centre is accessible to all and offers free entry. Standard opening hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the exception of Mondays. This dynamic centre is a must-see for photography buffs and anyone interested in contemporary art and history.
