The Underground City, commonly referred to as RÉSO, is an extensive network of interlinked buildings situated in downtown Montreal, featuring shopping centres, hotels, offices, and cultural venues. Established in the 1960s, this development aimed to create a sheltered space from the harsh winters and ease pedestrian movement. Key attractions include the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Place des Arts. Spanning around 32 kilometres, it houses over 1,200 shops and restaurants. Open throughout the year, the Underground City is conveniently accessible via the Montreal Metro and is a favoured spot for residents and visitors alike.
