Villa Groggia and its park lie on the grounds of the sixteenth‑century Palazzo Donà on the outskirts of Venice. The palazzo was largely demolished in 1823 and its materials recycled for nearby buildings, but fragments such as arches, jambs, capitals, columns and statues remain visible amid later alterations. A humble warehouse was adapted as the Teatrino in the early twentieth century and continues to serve as a local performance venue. The Groggia family gifted their properties to the Municipality of Venice, which assigned them to social promotion organisations; the premises — including a toy library and community theatre — accommodate meetings, cultural initiatives and civic services. The villa’s romantic quadrangular garden affords lagoon views. The site combines Venetian historic interest with active neighbourhood life, balancing conservation and community use. Public access is overseen locally; admission and accessibility arrangements vary with programme and facility.
