The Arrephorion, an important historical site on the Acropolis of Athens, dates back to approximately 470 BC. This square structure served as the residence for the Arrephoroi, two young girls selected each year to weave the sacred Peplos for the goddess Athena, highlighting its cultural significance in ancient ceremonies. Today, only the foundations are visible, providing a glimpse into Athenian customs and architecture. Visitors can roam the Acropolis area, but the Arrephorion is not directly accessible due to its protection beneath the earth. It is open throughout the year, free of charge, and is conveniently reachable via public transport.
