The Explanada de España, often referred to as the Esplanade, is a renowned promenade in Alicante, Spain. Running parallel to the port, it boasts a distinctive wavy pavement crafted from around 7.5 million marble tiles. This design, echoing the Mediterranean waves, features hues of red, cream, and black. Historically, it was renamed in 1868 to commemorate those executed during a political uprising. Visitors can explore attractions like the Auditorio de la Concha, artisan stalls, and a variety of cafes. Open throughout the year and free to enter, the promenade is accessible to all, offering a scenic environment enhanced by palm trees and rich cultural events.
