The Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Vita in Bologna, Italy, is an important religious and historical site, founded between 1687 and 1787. It emerged from the Flagellant movement in the 13th century. The church is home to the famous sculpture "Compianto sul Cristo morto" by Niccolò dell'Arca, noted for its dramatic expressiveness. Visitors can also view the baroque Oratory of the Battuti, featuring lavish golden stuccoes and artwork relating to the life of the Beato Raniero. The site is open to tourists from 9 AM to 6 PM, with free admission but donations welcomed.
