The Monument a Colom, situated at the end of La Rambla in Barcelona, is a notable symbol of the city. Unveiled on June 1, 1888, during the Universal Exposition, it commemorates Christopher Columbus's journey to the New World. Reaching 60 metres in height, it features a statue of Columbus pointing towards the sea. Visitors can use an elevator to access a viewing platform that offers panoramic views of the city and port. This monument is a popular tourist attraction and a common meeting point. Admission is free, and it is open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. The site is accessible for visitors with reduced mobility.
