Sophocleus Street, situated in Athens' historic centre, is recognized as the hub of the Athens Stock Exchange. Named after the ancient playwright Sophocles, this street stretches 600 meters from Piraeus Street to the junction of Pesmatzoglou and Aristeidou Streets. The Athens Stock Exchange was officially founded in 1876 and moved to Sophocleus Street in 1928. Tourists can visit nearby sites, including the National Bank's Central Administration Building, as well as numerous shops and eateries. The street is conveniently accessible by public transport.
