Porta San Pietro is a notable gateway in Lucca, designed by Alessandro Resta and built between 1565 and 1566 as part of the Renaissance fortifications. The structure features three gateways topped with a central shield bearing the emblem of Saint Peter, with lions on either side. The central entrance accommodates vehicles, while the side entrances are for pedestrians. An elegant classical tympanum enhances its visual appeal. The lower level of the gate currently serves as a venue for a historical reenactment association, showcasing Lucca's rich cultural heritage.
