Kölner Zoo, founded in 1860, is one of the oldest zoos in Germany, situated in Cologne. Covering 20 hectares, it houses over 11,000 animals across approximately 863 species. The zoo is famous for its historical architecture and contemporary enclosures, including the Elephant Park and the Hippodom.
