Palazzo Tolomei is a historic building situated in Siena, acknowledged as the oldest surviving private residence in the city, dating back to before 1205. Originally built by the Tolomei family, influential bankers of the era, the palace showcases typical 13th-century architectural styles, featuring a notable grey stone façade with elegant bifore windows. Significant restorations were carried out, particularly following near-total destruction due to conflicts, with the latest renovations completed in 1971. Now housing the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze, the Palazzo serves as a cultural landmark that illustrates the affluent history of Siena.
