The Lion de Belfort is an iconic monument located in Dorchester Square, downtown Montreal. The work of sculptor George William Hill, it stands as a tribute to the Victorian era and significant events of the time. The granite base, designed by Scottish-born architect Robert Findlay, features engraved shields commemorating various inventions and notable figures from Queen Victoria's reign. The statue has dimensions of 5.04 × 2.32 × 4.21 meters and includes a restored water fountain, which was reestablished in 2009.
