Bebek Parkı (Bebek Park) is a historic waterfront park in the Bebek neighbourhood of Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district, overlooking the Bosphorus. It developed as part of Ottoman shoreline projects and the urbanisation of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and acquired cultural importance as a favoured area for social life and leisure among Ottoman elites and, later, Istanbul’s cosmopolitan community. The park and the adjoining promenade are characterised by mature trees, open lawns, views of Bosphorus shipping, nearby yalı (waterside mansions), a small mosque and a marina, together with a mix of historic and contemporary cafés and restaurants. As a public green space it is generally accessible during daylight hours throughout the year and normally does not charge an entry fee; access is aided by paved routes and nearby public transport and road connections, though local terrain and facilities may vary.
