Sainte-Chapelle - Free Audio Guide

Sainte-Chapelle, situated on the Île de la Cité in Paris, is a Gothic chapel constructed between 1241 and 1248 by King Louis IX to house precious relics, including the Crown of Thorns. It is celebrated for its breathtaking stained glass windows, depicting biblical narratives, and is regarded as a significant example of medieval architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can view 15 expansive windows, each standing 15 metres tall, representing some of the finest Gothic artistry. The chapel is open throughout the year, usually from 9 AM to 7 PM. Admission fees apply, with concessions for students and individuals under 26. The site is accessible via public transport, with facilities for those with reduced mobility.
