The Torre di Adalberto, often referred to as the Torre della fame, is one of the most ancient medieval towers in Bergamo. Constructed from sandstone between the 10th and 13th centuries, it functioned as a prison for captured invaders and tax evaders during the time of the Venetian Republic. Its elevated entrance was intended to restrict access. A visit provides a glimpse into the rich history and architectural significance of Bergamo. Although the tower is a historical landmark, full accessibility for tours may not be available. Visitors are advised to consult local resources for specific visiting hours and any associated fees.
