East Roosevelt Street, known locally as Roosevelt Row, is a walkable arts neighbourhood in central Phoenix whose grassroots revitalisation converted a former commercial stretch into a cultural focal point. The district is famed for abundant, colourful street art and murals by local creators such as La Morena, Ashley Macias, Thomas Breeze Marcus and Lalo Cota; the 1½ Street Mural Project beside The Churchill offers a concentrated overview. Its cultural role is reinforced by regular events—the monthly First Fridays Art Walk and annual gatherings like M3F Music Festival, Phoestivus and the Pie Social—which contribute to local identity. Principal attractions include galleries (The Monorchid, Bentley Gallery, Eye Lounge), independent shops (Phoenix General, Bunky Boutique, MADE Art Boutique) and extensive public art. Much of the area is publicly accessible and pedestrian‑friendly; streets are generally free to explore, while individual venues may set admission and accessibility arrangements.
