The Statue of Athena Promachos, an ancient Greek sculpture created by Phidias in the 5th century BC, was situated at the Acropolis of Athens. This massive bronze statue portrayed Athena as a warrior and was financed by the spoils from the Battle of Marathon. The statue symbolised Athenian power and was visible from far-off sea routes. Although the statue itself is no longer present, its pedestal can still be seen, making it an important historical site. The Acropolis is open to visitors throughout the year, with varying hours by season. Entrance fees are required for the archaeological site, and visitors are advised to check for accessibility options.
