Christ Church is an Anglican cathedral situated in Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. Constructed between 1873 and 1879, it is an important example of early Christian architecture in East Africa. Designed by Edward Steere, the cathedral boasts a distinctive barrel-vaulted concrete roof, combining Perpendicular Gothic and Islamic architectural styles. It has a connection to Ely Cathedral in the UK. Visitors can appreciate its historical value, but the site is in need of restoration. It is open to the public; however, it is recommended to verify visiting hours and any admission fees in advance.
