Alay Köşkü is an Ottoman‑era pavilion in Istanbul whose name, literally "Regiment Pavilion," reflects historical links to military regiments and ceremonial use. Modest in scale but refined in detail, such pavilions often feature timber construction, decorated ceilings, traditional tiles or painted ornamentation, and are situated within landscaped grounds or palace precincts. During the Ottoman era the pavilion served ceremonial, administrative and leisure purposes for court circles, and today it is regarded as part of Istanbul’s architectural and social heritage. Principal attractions are its historic rooms and period interior details that convey courtly life and design. Visits are organised according to institutional schedules, with admission fees and managed access; accessibility arrangements vary and older buildings may have limited access. Its cultural importance lies in representing Ottoman court customs, urban memory and artisanal craftsmanship.
