The Arsenal of the Maritime Republic in Amalfi, built in the 11th and 12th centuries, was once central to Amalfi’s naval power, serving as a shipyard for constructing and repairing war galleys. It housed the influential Tabula Amalphitana, a maritime code that guided sea laws for centuries. Today, only part of the structure survives, with two large stone halls showcasing maritime artifacts and a row-barge from the Historical Regatta. It now functions as a cultural space and since 2010, includes the Compass Museum, which explores navigation history.
