Riddarholmskyrkan, originally Gråbrödrakyrkan, is a historic church located on Riddarholmen in Stockholm. Built around 1292, it served as a convent church for the Franciscan order and is known as Sweden's royal burial church. Visitors can explore its medieval architecture, including a distinctive red brick façade and several royal sarcophagi. The church is currently managed by the Riksmarskalksämbetet and is open to the public as a museum during the summer months, as well as for special events. Regular services are limited, but a Christmas service is held annually. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Accessibility is available for visitors with mobility challenges.
