The Postigo del Aceite, originally known as bab al-Qatay, is one of the few remaining gates of the ancient walls of Seville, Spain. Constructed in 1107 during the Almoravid period, it was later remodeled by architect Benvenuto Tortello in the 16th century. The name translates to "Oil Gate," indicating its historical significance as a point of entry for olive oil into the city. Visitors can admire the unique architectural features and enjoy the vibrant surroundings of El Arenal neighborhood, particularly during Semana Santa when it is a popular viewing spot for processions. The site is accessible year-round, and there are no admission fees. Be mindful of the narrow streets when visiting.
