Palazzo Minerbetti is located at the corner of Via dei Tornabuoni and Via del Parione in Florence, Italy. This historic building dates back to the late 13th or early 14th century and was originally commissioned by the Bombeni family. It later came into the possession of the Minerbetti family, who were believed to be of English descent, fleeing their homeland after the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket. The palace showcases a predominantly late medieval architectural style, characterized by a rusticated façade with a descending bugnato, giving it a solid appearance. It features arched windows and seven ground-floor portals, one of which is notably high due to the historical passageway that once existed beneath it. Throughout its history, Palazzo Minerbetti has undergone several renovations, including a significant restoration in the 18th century by architect Pier Giovanni Fabbroni, who added a private chapel and alcove. The building also hosted notable events, such as a visit from the Grand Dukes of Tuscany in 1767. In the 19th century, parts of the palace were converted into a hotel, a function it continues to serve today in its upper floors.
