旧大塚家住宅 (Kyū-Ōtsuka-ke Jūtaku) is a preserved historic urban residence in Tokyo, dating mainly to the Meiji–Taishō era. Formerly the home of the Otsuka family, it exemplifies traditional Japanese domestic architecture adapted to a modernizing city, featuring timber construction, tatami rooms, sliding screens, a compact inner garden and some Western-influenced details. The house is valued for its material authenticity and for illustrating household layouts, craft techniques and everyday life during a period of rapid social change; it is recognized locally for its cultural significance. Key attractions include original rooms and fittings, architectural details, the garden and interpretive displays about the family and neighborhood. The site is generally open to visitors during daytime hours with a modest admission charge; as an older wooden structure, physical accessibility can be limited, though some accommodations may be provided.
