Donhwamun, the main gate of Changdeokgung Palace, is a designated treasure of South Korea and holds significant historical and cultural value. Built in 1412 during the reign of King Taejong, it was reconstructed in 1608 after being burned down during the Imjin War. Donhwamun is notable for its unique five-bay structure, making it the oldest existing palace gate in Korea. Visitors can explore the scenic grounds of Changdeokgung, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture. The palace is open every day from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with extended hours in the summer. Admission fees are reasonable, and the palace is accessible by public transport.
