The Arneson River Theater, located along the beautiful San Antonio River Walk, is a historic outdoor performance venue built between 1939 and 1941. Designed by architect Robert H.H. Hugman, it honors Edwin P. Arneson, a WPA engineer who helped fund the project. The theater can accommodate over 800 audience members and hosts more than 200 performances annually, including music concerts, plays, and cultural festivals. Notable for its unique setting, it features Rosita's Bridge, named after Tejano music pioneer Rosita Fernández. The site is a filming location from the movie "Miss Congeniality." Nearby, La Villita Historic Arts Village offers artisan shops and restaurants, enhancing the cultural experience for visitors.
