Flygarmonumentet, a striking sculpture by Carl Milles, is located at Gösta Bohmans Platz on the northern side of Karlaplan in Stockholm. Unveiled in 1931, it commemorates Swedish aviation pioneers and features a majestic eagle ready to soar. The monument's base includes reliefs depicting Icarus, Andrée's balloon "Örnen," and early warplanes. Originally, it housed a chamber for posthumous medals honoring fallen Swedish aviators. Although the tradition ended in the 1940s, the monument remains a significant tribute.
