Höfði is a historically significant house in Reykjavík, built in 1909 and originally serving as the residence of the French consul, Jean-Paul Brillouin. The site gained international fame in 1986 when it hosted the Reykjavik Summit, a pivotal meeting between U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, representing a defining moment in Cold War history. Today, it is celebrated for its cultural relevance and is surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds. Visitors can appreciate the ongoing memorial to the summit with flags of the U.S. and the former Soviet Union displayed. Although currently not functioning as a residence, Höfði stands as a symbol of peace and diplomatic discourse.
