Crkva sv. Vlaha, or the Church of St. Blaise, is a baroque church located in the heart of Dubrovnik, Croatia. Built between 1706 and 1715 by architect Marino Gropelli, it stands on the site of an earlier Romanesque church. The church is dedicated to St. Blaise, the city's patron saint, and is celebrated annually on February 3rd during the Festa svetog Vlaha. Visitors can admire its richly decorated facade and impressive interior, featuring a remarkable marble altar with a silver statue of St. Blaise. The church is an important cultural landmark, reflecting the city’s history and resilience, particularly after the 1667 earthquake and the Croatian War of Independence. Admission is typically free, and it is accessible to tourists. Opening hours may vary, so it’s advisable to check in advance.
