Muralla Romana, Carrer de Montjuïc del Bisbe, el Gòtic, Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Barcelonès, Barcelona, Catalunya, 08001, España

Muralla Romana in Barcelona are the surviving fragments of the Roman defensive walls that once surrounded the ancient colony of Barcino. Originating in the early centuries of the common era, these remains trace the foundation and urban layout of the city and were subsequently reused in medieval and later structures. Located mainly in the Gothic Quarter, notable elements include exposed wall stretches, towers and archaeological deposits integrated into later buildings and exhibited both in situ and in the city history museum. The site has cultural significance as tangible evidence of Barcelona’s Roman origins and as an urban palimpsest showing continuous occupation and adaptation. Some sections are freely accessible while others form part of museum displays with separate admission; opening times and fees vary seasonally. Physical accessibility is constrained in certain historic sectors, though adapted routes exist in parts.
